Food Friday: Game Day Guacamole Salsa Recipe

A healthy diet is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for all seniors. Eating a well-balanced diet can help you stay energized, maintain a healthy weight and get the nutrients you need. It also lowers your risk of developing chronic health conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. Have fun, try new things and remember healthy food can be delicious.

Guacamole Salsa

Guacamole Salsa is a dish filled with protein, fibre, vitamins & antioxidants that are diabetic & vegan-friendly. Not only is it delicious & healthy but it is quick and easy to make.



2 ripe tomatoes (seeds removed)

1/4 cup red onion

1/2 small jalapeño (remove seeds)

1 finely chopped or pressed clove of garlic

1/4 cup of freshly chopped cilantro

Freshly Squeezed lime juice to taste (1/2 whole lime)

2 medium avocados

Sea Salt to taste.

Chop vegetables & cilantro and combine all ingredients including lime juice and sea salt to taste in a medium bowl.

Mash avocados and mix with vegetables & cilantro salsa.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Serve and enjoy
